We use BOTOX® & Xeomin®  to relax the muscles in the face that create fine lines and wrinkles and to prevent further deepening of lines. It is a simple 15-minute procedure, with a few tiny injections directly into the muscles we want to treat. There is an art to these treatments - to achieve the best, most natural looking results it must be placed in the right muscle, in the correct place, at an ideal dose, by an experienced Registered Cosmetic Nurse Specialist or Doctor.

The most common areas we treat are the frown line, or ‘grumpy lines’, the horizontal ‘worry’ lines on the forehead, and the ‘crow’s feet’ around the eyes.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers increase volume, soften wrinkles, enhance lips, and restore the youthful contours of the face. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected into the skin to physically lift, volumise, and sculpt it, correcting wrinkles, folds, scars and asymmetries of the face.
There are many filler choices available on the market.

We only use hyaluronic acid-based fillers. These products are totally biodegradable and safe & typically last 12months or more. Hyaluronan is a sugar molecule found naturally in our bodies, which unfortunately we lose from our skin as we age. By injecting hyaluronic gel  directly back into the skin at different depths, we can achieve various effects.

The typical areas of Dermal filler treatment include:
Nasolabial folds (dermal fillers are great for lines or folds from the sides of the nose to the end of the lips)
Peri-oral area (wrinkles around the lips)
Lip enhancement
Softening early jowls, droopy mouth corners
Marionette & accordion lines (lines from the corners of the mouth to the jawline, accentuating the downturn of the mouth)
Temples and cheek areas to restore lost volume

"The Vampire Facial"

Performed by Visiting Cosmetic Nurse Pea Blackwood of ModBod.

The procedure involves drawing some of your own blood (like in a blood test), centrifuging it (spinning it very fast for about 8 minutes so that it separates into the red blood cells and the plasma parts). The rich platelets are then extracted and injected into your skin. This is done under a topical local anaesthesia (a gel or cream is applied to your skin to numb it for the injecting). More popular these days is a small, local injection, with a cannula (blunt-ended needle) fed under the skin. Cannulas move blood vessels and nerves mostly out of the way, so with an experienced injector, you should get very little bruising. Usually, only a little swelling and slight redness will occur, and you can go to work the next day, your secret safe with us! On your second treatment it is nice to finish with a Dermal Needling and stem cell serum, to get a double-whammy effect. This can be discussed at your consultation.

crinkling skin around the eyes, cheeks & mid face
jaw line
chest and decolletage
the neck (it’s incredible in making older women’s necks look so much younger!!)
the backs of the hands and arms, where we really show ageing
decreases scarring
These can all be rejuvenated with this treatment. PRP facial rejuvenation can be a one-off treatment, but further cannula injections under the skin can be re-performed at 4-weekly intervals for lines and wrinkles as you desire. We recommend 3 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart, then booster treatments every 6-12 months. The entire process and injection time is simple and takes approximately 1 hour. PRP is enriched with your own platelets, stem cells, and growth factors. Once injected into your skin, these substances will accelerate the normal healing process via new collagen formation at the injected area. This process brings long-lasting tissue rejuvenation by your own cells. PRP has been widely used for many years in cosmetic surgery, orthopedics, dentistry, soft tissue implants, and other types of implants.

Depending on the health and age of your skin, you usually need about 3 treatments, 4 weeks apart. This is followed by touch-up treatments to maintain results, and although results may vary, most patients’ results will last for up to 18 months. Results are not immediate – initially you will see and feel swelling from the fluid, and then once the swelling has subsided, you will not see much at all. Over a few weeks, however, the platelets will stimulate the growth factors which will assist in more collagen growth, and over the ensuing months there will be more improvement in texture and tone.
